One of the largest and most exciting and creative projects I was ever involved with. Created by Lightmaker UK, with a 6 months development span, 4 launch phases, and developed in multiple languages. My role within the team was the creative direction of the project and the design lead of the overall interactive experience, fully hands-on.
The brief was to come up with a unique web experience for the promotion of the game that feels just like a videogame. By immersing users into the magical Hogwarts school their task was to explore its rooms and discover its secrets by learning magic spells and the ability to create them. Each spell allowed users to discover something new within the span of the games' 6 months promotion before the game's release date, such as exclusive images, wallpapers, developers diary and videos.
What makes this project unique is that almost everything was custom-made with barely any assets provided by the client. A lot of the visuals and details were handcraft by myself from scratch, as well many interactive effects and animations, even sound FX. Many 3D renders, environment rooms and animations were created by the talented Lightmaker 3D artists which I used for composing and animating the final visuals and overall experience. The team's programmers brought everything into life with their code, which not only made the experience working perfectly in multiple languages but also the realization and use of the magic spells through motion tracking. All around, an excellent teamwork from everyone involved producing a really unique and beautiful experience for its time.
